Tutors
English At Large programs serve adult immigrants who live or work in our 24-Community Service Area in Greater Boston.
Each year hundreds of volunteers, trained and supported by EAL staff, provide individual and small group instruction to their immigrant neighbors and friends, helping them build their English language skills and understanding of American culture as they gain the skills and confidence they need to join in their communities and achieve their life goals.
The Massachusetts Adult Literacy Hotline (1-800-447-8844) provides referrals to over 300 adult education programs that offer one-on-one tutoring, small-group or classroom instruction to adult learners. We provide information about basic reading, math, adult basic education, English language training, family literacy, High School Equivalency Test preparation or testing sites.
